What is underfloor heating?
Underfloor heating is a system that uses the basic principle of heat rising. It can be installed in solid or suspended floors and provides an easy, controllable and even temperature in a room. It can be more economical to run than a standard, conventional heating system whilst offering more comfort on a lower temperature.
There a two types of underfloor heating. The first type is a dry system which uses electric coils and the second is a wet system which pumps water through a maze of pipes underneath your floor. The Romans used this method to heat baths and a building which conforms to the basic principle stated earlier that heat rises and therefore radiates heat throughout the room.

Underfloor heating has many benefits. One being it provides room-by-room temperature control and therefore is generally more economical to use, which leaves you will lower bills. This is important as normal or conventional heating systems use radiators which will have to work a lot harder than underfloor heating for you to feel the effects.
Another benefit is that underfloor heating heats up an area almost immediately around them and then the heat quickly travels upwards. However radiators require a higher temperature to be more efficient within a room.
